Reminder:  The Final BOS Public Hearing, for public input on the advertised tax rate, will be held Wednesday, March 31st at 6:00 pm, Lane Auditorium, County Office Building
Sign in sheets for speakers available at 5:00 pm (on a table at the front right of the auditorium)
Parent Council will provide snacks and water, Room 235, off the Auditorium lobby.

The updated status of the ACPS budget remains as follows:  ACPS needs approximately $700,000 in recurring funding for recurring expenses to avoid further cuts.
  • More then $6.1 million dollars was cut from the ACPS budget prior to submitting a funding request to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. Those cuts remain.
  • Recurring revenue from the VA General Assembly budget reduced the schools deficit to $464,017.
  • Restoring full-time Principals to four elementary schools would cost $233,000.
  • Total recurring funding still needed from Albemarle County:  ~ $693,000.
The BOS has already advertised a tax rate for the coming year, which means they cannot raise the tax rate beyond the advertised 74.2 cents. However, the BOS can make the decision to allocate additional funds to the school division.
Please come out and make your voice heard...
