PUBLIC  HEARING  -  WEDNESDAY,  APRIL 1st,  6:00pm

Board of Supervisors to Receive Public Comment

Regarding Proposed County Budget 2009-10

Lane Auditorium, County Office Building (McIntire Road)

Please remind your school communities of the Board of Supervisors' (BOS) public hearing next Wednesday.  The Board of Supervisors advertised a real estate tax rate of 74.2 cents per $100 assessed value.  This rate will provide full funding for the School Board's proposed budget 2009-10.  However, if the BOS approves a lower tax rate, the School Board will be required to reduce its proposed budget

Please encourage education supporters to attend the public hearing.  It really is effective to attend public hearings, and stand in support of education funding.   Parent Council will provide hospitality and light fare in ROOM 235 (just outside Lane Auditorium) at 5:30pm in advance of the public hearing.  And, Parent Council will provide visual aides for audience members to hold while education supporters address the BOS during the public hearing.

Education supporters should also email BOS members:  bos@albemarle.org

MESSAGE:  Please support funding for education.

Speakers may register beginning at 4pm Wednesday, in Lane Auditorium.

Thank you for your continued commitment on behalf of our students, teachers and administrators.
